Ground of Peace — Payment Terms of Service

Entity Type: Ground of Peace, a faith-based nonprofit ministry recognized as a 508(c)(1)(A) religious organization and a 501(c)(3) public charity, registered in the State of California.

1. Purpose and Core Values

Ground of Peace exists to serve the community through end-of-life spiritual care, compassionate counsel, and education rooted in peace and dignity.
All payments—whether donations, session fees, or purchases—help sustain these offerings in alignment with our mission of service, transparency, and stewardship.

2. Types of Payments We Receive

  1. Donations: Voluntary charitable gifts that may qualify as tax-deductible contributions under IRC §508(c)(1)(A) and §501(c)(3).
  2. Private Counsel Sessions: Offerings of spiritual presence and guidance. Fees represent time and energy exchanged to support our work and are not considered tax-deductible donations.
  3. Event or Program Fees: Contributions for workshops, retreats, or courses that include direct services or materials.
  4. Merchandise or Art Sales: Occasional offerings of art or educational materials, proceeds of which support the ministry.

3. Payment Processing

  • All online payments are processed securely through Stripe or Calendly + Stripe using industry-standard encryption.
  • Ground of Peace does not store your full credit-card information on our servers.
  • Payments appear on your statement as “Ground of Peace” or “Ground of Peace Ministry.” 

4. Refunds and Cancellations

a) Private Counsel Sessions

  • Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled session may receive a full refund or credit toward a future session.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment are non-refundable but may be rescheduled at our discretion.
  • If Ground of Peace must cancel, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

b) Events, Workshops, and Courses

  • Refunds are processed according to the event’s posted policy. Generally, cancellations 7 days before an event qualify for a full refund; later cancellations may receive a credit.

c) Donations

  • Because donations are voluntary gifts used for charitable purposes, donations are non-refundable except in cases of clear error (e.g., duplicate payment or wrong amount).
  • Requests for correction must be made within 30 days by emailing info@groundofpeace.org.

5. Receipts and Tax Acknowledgment

  • Stripe automatically emails a receipt for every payment.
  • For tax-deductible donations, Ground of Peace issues a formal acknowledgment that includes:
    • Our legal name and EIN
    • Date and amount of gift
    • Required IRS statement that no goods or services were provided, when applicable.
  • Year-end summaries are available upon request.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy completely. Personal and financial information is used solely for processing your transaction, providing receipts, and maintaining donor or participant records.
We never sell or share donor data.

7. Disputes and Chargebacks

If an error occurs, please contact us directly before filing a dispute with your bank. We respond promptly and fairly.
Unresolved matters are governed by the laws of the State of California, venue San Diego County.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
